I am a Humanistic Client-Centered Clinical Psychologist, originally trained within the Psychoanalytic orientation. I also believe in theoretical eclecticism, therefore in addition to my Humanistic orientation, I offer Cognitive/Behavioral as well as Psychodynamic approaches. Overall I strive to offer my clients the experience of "therapeutic presence" including: deep empathic listening, nonjudgmental acceptance, and therapeutic and genuineness. I look forward to meeting you for an initial consultation.
Currently American mental health treatment is dominated by the medicalization of symptomology, managed care, and overmedication. However, I do not support the "Medical Model" being applied to mental health treatment and I see Humanistic Client-Centered psychology as a more powerful, humane, and evidence based alternative.
My clinical activities are diverse. I practice individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy. I facilitate a number of Humanistic Client-Centered groups in New York City and throughout the United States. I coordinate the New York Person Centered Resource Center (see the following website: www.nypcrc.org).

Groups
Person-Centered Encounter Groups
My colleagues and I offer a range of fee-based and site-specific groups and encounter groups for large and small groups such as businesses, organizations, and families. Encounter Groups have a long and valued history within Humanistic Psychology. These groups can be one-time or ongoing, and are designed to meet the specific needs of the group requesting the service. Because of our organizational structure, we are able to meet the needs of many different kinds of groups who are looking for new, progressive, and sustaining ways to accomplish conflict resolution. Please contact me for more information.
