“I have twenty years of experience helping clients process loss and discover their inner gifts. I facilitate art, writing, and cognitive therapy to encourage recognition of emotional triggers and an awareness of beliefs that are behind those reactions; this encourages self-discovery and improves communication within relationships. I also encourage breathing and meditation practices to ease emotions from past memories or experiences, promoting deep relaxation and clarity. Releasing emotions from the body through breath, art, play, and poetry can release what traditional talk therapies cannot. I believe in approaching health for the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

Each person is unique in his or her process. Talking through what has not been spoken for years may be one step. For others, learning the origins of their triggers may be another. Some require relaxation and artistic expression to deepen discernment and sense of self. All are available in our session.

I am an artist and poet; by expressing emotions through writing, recitation, and visual images, I have seen these forms transform my own life. I act as a guide, but honor that deep down, you also know what is best for your healing process. I look forward to meeting you!”

Through poetry, one can claim our stories and reshape them in ways that create not only an opening but a space for integration of self. We will listen to music as we journal, then create poetry from its pages. In the afternoon, each of us will share a current favorite inspirational song and its lyrics, and afterward we will create a group poem! Please bring a lunch item to share, a notebook or journal, the CD or tape of your inspirational song, and paper copies of its lyrics. No writing experienced required. Cost: $85.
