Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs), in our tender years, whether they were caused by abuse, neglect or chronic parental mis-attunement are not only impediments to thriving in one's life, they increase the risk of serious physical disease in later life. Whatever hurts inside is simply asking to be known and loved. I believe that the difficulties and traumas of life need never define us as human beings. Rather, I believe that when safety, skillful caring and authentic connection are finally available for us, these very traumas can become the doors through which we discover our own unique gifts, talents and power as individuals.
My therapeutic style is grounded strongly in the Buddhist awareness practice of Mindfulness. My intention is to help clients cultivate an openhearted curiosity in their body's lived experience. Loving bridges can then be built to all that once frightened from within. Wounded child parts become securely attached to stable, loving inner resources.
Please know that no matter how heavy the darkness may grow, there is always hope. My aim is to restore an unwavering connection to a bodily-based sense of truth or rightness for you; a sense of "coming home" to your Self. I intend to offer a felt sense of safety to help you "attend and befriend" the buried roots of any and all of your distressing symptoms.
