My professional interests focus primarily on improving the mental and emotional well-being of others, whether through individual treatment, group education, or professional training. I have developed a particular expertise in the area of motor vehicle accident rehabilitation, assisting people to cope with the many difficult consequences of an accident, such as chronic pain, depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and cognitive complaints, and other life changes. In addition, I have experience working closely with others are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship or work stress, and childhood trauma.

I believe good psychotherapy works with a unique interaction between the relationship between therapist and client, the development of healthy coping strategies, and an emotional understanding of the connection between previous life experiences and current difficulties. My overall approach is client-centred, working with you to develop your personal goals.

My office is located in a historic home on the West Mountain area of Hamilton. I am excited to welcome Dr. Karen Ip to my practice. Her clinical interests include chronic depression, trauma, grief, and low self-esteem, as well as dieting, body image, and obesity.
