“I have nearly 23 years experience treating most adult diagnoses and 20 years developing specialties in anxiety and eating disorders. In addition to my required one year internship, I completed a one year voluntary fellowship and 11 years of ongoing supervision in the diagnosis/treatment of anxiety disorders including panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). I also worked and trained for 11 years as a specialist in eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder) and health psychology at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

In individual therapy, I often rely of some combination of cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic approaches to treatment. Early on, I tend to emphasize cognitive behavioral techniques and gradually include more psychodymnamic elements (when appropriate) as treatment progresses.

I emphasize the importance of maximizing physical health and, if requested, address spirituality (traditional or otherwise) in resolving psychological difficulties. I also teach numerous self-help techniques for continuing one's psychological growth after therapy and for improved self-management of future difficulties.”

Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult
