“I have 23 years experience treating most adult diagnoses and 20 years developing specialties in anxiety and eating disorders. In addition to my required one year internship, I completed a one year voluntary fellowship and 11 years of ongoing supervision in the diagnosis/treatment of anxiety disorders including panic disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). I also worked and trained for 11 years as a specialist in eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder) and health psychology at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

Historically, I have relied on a combination of cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic approaches to treatment, but recently have added another specialty, EMDR. I have my Certificate of Completion for EMDR Basic Training from the EMDR Institute headed by Dr. Francine Shapiro, the psychologist who originally developed the approach.

An essential part of good therapy, in my view, includes helping people help themselves ultimately. Accordingly, I teach numerous self-help techniques. Since I consider the mind and body as one, I emphasize the importance of maximizing physical health and addressing any traditional or non-traditional spiritual concerns.”
