I am a licensed psychologist with over 29 years of clinical experience. My professonal interests include treatment of anxiety disorders,depression, sexual dysfunction, relationship issues, couples therapy and mindfulness-based psychotherapy. My particular "brand" of couples therapy derives from the work of Terry Real. I am experienced in a variety of treatment modalities including psychodynamic,cognitive behavioral, and family systems. I work in an active, problem-focused manner. I am interested in the hear-and-now problems of the client as well as the family-of-origin. I will teach insight meditation techniques when the problem lends itself to this approach.
I am intent on producing behavioral change in a timely fashion. I have advanced training and many years experience in couples theary. I am an ASSECT certified sex therapist and will therefore be effective where there are relationship issues and sexual problems.

Long-term psychotherapy group with men/women focused on improving capacity for intimacy. Invidual obstacles to successful relationships are identified and worked on by the group providing a "laboratory" of relationships. Feelings of shame and low self-esteem are resolved in the group members gradual disclosure of his/her problem
