My practice of psychotherapy involves establishing a collaborative relationship to modify troublesome thoughts, feelings or behaviors through the development of self-awareness, interpersonal understanding, and problem-solving to enhance coping skills, alleviate distress, or achieve life goals. I will assist you to identify goals to resolve conflicts, find solutions, and enhance acceptance of self and others.
While I have extensive experience treating eating disorders, I also focus on anxiety, trauma, mood disorders and helping clients with problems of everyday life. I have experience working with adolescents, families and couples in a variety of settings including inpatient, residential, and EAP. My style is fairly directive and upfront.
I believe in social action and work in the community to advocate, educate and help prevent eating disorders as well as other mental health problems.
