“I have over 10 years of experience working very productively with individuals and couples of diverse backgrounds, ages, and sexual orientations. My job is to help you to identify dysfunctional patterns of thought and behavior that contribute to - even perpetuate - the difficulties you are having. Working collaboratively, our focus in therapy will be on removing psychological and behavioral obstacles that prevent you from reaching your goals and improving your relationships.

My approach is supportive and empathic but, above all, pragmatic. While I believe that an understanding of the past is essential, positive change occurs in the present. I will challenge you to be an active partner in therapy and to continue to seek insight and growth outside of sessions.

My training and experience ranges from psychotherapy and assessment of children, adults, and couples to counseling persons with AIDS and survivors of trauma. Whether you seek to overcome a specific trauma or to break a chronic life pattern, I will strive to meet you where you are at.”
