My specialty area is working with Nice Guys (also known as People Pleasers). I also work with all types of men, individually or with their wives or girlfriends. Why might you come to see me? Because you are suffering. Your relationship is unhappy, rocky or icy, or having sexual problems. You've had odd outbursts of anger. You feel stuck, irritated or down. You're not getting what you want (or feel you deserve) out of life. Or you have run into a situation you can't get through alone and don't know where to turn. I can help.
As a man, you may not think you can discuss your problems, your thoughts, or your emotions. It can feel risky and uncomfortable. I respect that, and I work to meet you where you're at. I know you are here first and foremost to solve a problem.
I know many men are worried (especially going into couples counseling) about how counseling is going to work. With couples I strive for balance at all times. Individually, I am as direct and real as possible, and draw from my own experiences as a son, brother, co-worker and husband.

Professional Connections
“Peter has a wonderfully intuitive sense as a therapist and a candid style that is refreshing. His clients that have come to me for consult on Collaborative Divorce have reported positive results from their work with him.” “I have known Peter for a decade since we were classmates in grad school, and have seen him grow as a man, and now as a father and a therapist. His passion for helping people is palpable. His expertise and experience as a clinician are of the highest quality. And his expertise in working with "Nice Guys" is second to none. Working with men to become their best, most empowered, most compassionate selves is so important to our culture. I highly recommend Peter Hannah as a trusted counselor, as a friend, as a colleague.” |
