I have been in practice since 1977, working with adults and adolescents to deal with depression, anxiety, social inhibition, relationship dissatisfaction, and patterns of behavior that don't result in happiness, success, and contentment. My approach is interpersonal and experiential. The client and I pay attention to our reactions to one another as we explore his/her concerns, using the relationship we develop as a laboratory in which to learn about the beliefs, fears, and unconscious motivations that stand in the way of full self-expression and authenticity.
For me psychotherapy is a calling, not a job;I come to each encounter with the intention to be as open, honest, present, and fearlessly conscious as I can.
I offer the opportunity for some clients to participate in one of my 5 on-going long-term therapy groups, a powerful therapeutic modality for diminishing isolation and shame and developing skills that translate into improved interpersonal skills and relationships at work and at home.
