“I have been providing therapy to adults for over ten years. I strongly believe you should feel comfortable with the therapist you choose, and hopeful about the therapy. I view therapy as a partnership between myself and you, the client. You define the problem areas to be worked on; I assist you make the changes you want to make. An important part of your therapy may be practicing new skills and behaviors that you will learn in our sessions. These are important parts of personal change that will hopefully lead to a more productive, happy life.

I think of my approach to helping people with their difficulties as collaborative and educational. My theoretical stance is generally based on principals from cognitive behavioral therapy. The goal of therapy is to reduce symptoms, develop and strengthen effective coping skills, and improve functioning in various areas of life.

One of the areas I have had the most experience in is working with clients who have experienced abuse or trauma. Trauma therapy involves cognitive behavioral strategies, as well as processing the feelings and beliefs associated with traumatic experiences. I find this type of work especially challenging and rewarding.”
