I am interested in how the individual changes and grows in relation to the systems to which s/he belongs. Therefore, I assess and treat the client within the context of all of those systems--individual (body/mind/heart/spirit), couple, family, school, work, community, and so forth. Techniques from several different theory models are woven into the "systemic" framework, allowing me to provide an individualized therapy experience for each client.

I work with individuals who are looking for ways to negotiate such issues as life transitions, anxiety, depression, relationships, loss and grief, work stress, parenting a difficult child, trauma, and developing a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, I offer Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which teaches Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

My approach tends to be informal and interactive. I offer strategies to individuals who want to feel, think, and act from a place of balance. I may provide handouts and suggest books to read. My hope is that clients leave therapy sessions feeling empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
