My style as a therapist is both affirmative and challenging. I seek to support and understand who you are today, while also helping you identify ways you may unwittingly perpetuate unhappiness and dissatisfaction in your life and relationships. Therapy often involves the following processes: Changing reactive patterns of behavior that create misery in your life, e.g. compulsive behaviors or self-sabotage. Learning about your "filters," i.e. habitual ways of interpreting events that stem from developmental experiences. Developing skills to modulate uncomfortable feelings, such as anxiety or sadness. Strengthening your core sense of self and values.
