Mr. Ron Helpman

In over 15 years of work with individuals and couples, and as a supervisor of other therapists, I have helped people with problems including low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, addictions and relationship problems. I have an interactive style which draws on a variety of approaches including cognitive-behavioral theory (CBT), interpersonal and developmental psychology, Gestalt, and psychobiology. Together, we will gain a non-judgmental understanding of the emotional, intellectual, and behavioral habits which stand in your way. We then work to develop satisfying and productive alternatives.

I believe in a balance of engaging with the present, looking back to the past, and planning for the future. By developing an in-the-moment self-awareness you can spot and challenge unrealistic and destructive thoughts. I will give you tools for identifying and dealing with difficult emotions.

Understanding the logic of old habits by exploring your past can reduce feelings of defectiveness; it can also help you identify and find ways to meet old frustrated needs. I will also support you in taking steps to achieve your goals.
