“I consider it a privilege to be part of people's decision to improve their lives. Through individual and couples psychotherapy, I help people uncover patterns that may be holding them back. Against the backdrop of this insight, the change process evolves and often involves a variety of strategies. Though I am a generalist, I have longstanding academic and clinical interests in trauma, anxiety and substance abuse. More recently I have become interested in the broader impacts of anxiety and depression across the lifespan, and how patterns of interpersonal relationships can substantially affect these experiences.

I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet clients' needs and goals. Specific techniques vary accordingly, but generally include the building of insight, appropriate cognitive and/or behavioral strategies, and the healing experience of a collaborative and compassionate relationship.

My office is located directly above the South Dupont Circle Metro stop.”
