“Hello, my name is Dr. Paul Smerz and I am a clinical psychologist practicing in the Milwaukee area. I believe that a good psychologist not only helps to resolve the problems that you brought to treatment, but develops a deeper awareness of you as an individual and collaborates with you to develop a plan for continued growth that reflects your life-long plans and goals. To that end, I strive to promote an experience for you of transformational change in all aspects of your life, including your inner world, relationships, spiritual beliefs, work life and world views.

My treatment approach is primarily psychoanalytical, but I use alternative modalities depending upon your needs. I enjoy using methods that facilitate the development of a deeper conscious awareness of your self, and often use dreams, journaling, art, typology, hypnosis, and other imaginal exercises.

I work with adults, adolescents, and children presenting with a variety of mental health and relationship issues. I also provide psychological evaluation and assessment of Attention Deficit Disorder and other learning disabilities, and specialize in couples therapy and the treatment of problem gambling.”
