Dr. Mavis Maiava Alaimalo

Armed with the appropriate coping strategies, attitude, and support, she believes that one can achieve, to the best of their ability, their desired goal(s)/destination for mental wellness!

Dr. Alaimalo specializes in psychotherapy for adults, couples and group, specifically in the areas of depression and anxiety, substance abuse/dependency and dual diagnosis, grief and loss, and domestic violence. Her approach to therapy is from a Cognitive- Behavioral perspective, with a blend of Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches.

She grew up in public housing in Kalihi, experiencing and learning from the daily challenges of this often difficult environment. This unique personal perspective grants her the ability to understand the challenges of those from many socio-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.”
