“Working with adults and adolescents, within a cooperative relationship, I specialize in the treatment of relationship issues, depression & anxiety, sexuality issues, alcohol/substance abuse, chronic illness (HIV, cancer), grief/loss and a variety of compulsive behaviors (eating, gambling, sex, shopping, etc). Also trained as a yoga instructor, I integrate mindfulness meditation training into my treatment as indicated. Mindfulness meditation has been shown to be effective in helping clients regulate mood, alleviate anxiety symptoms, manage stress, as well as reduce pain and its perception. I approach therapy with a sense of shared expertise - client and therapist both co-creating successful outcomes.
Licensed as an independent clinical social worker, I am recognized as a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. I continue post-grad training in Relational-Cultural Theory and have expanded my practice to include online and phone coaching & consultation, available through my website which allows for evening & weekend appointments.
I have provided consultation services for Good Morning America, ABCNews 20/20, New York Times, Fox News, PEOPLE magazine, LOGO / Viacom, the Tyra Banks and Dr. Keith Ablow show, CBS Larry Elder Show, Sony Pictures, NewHouse News Service - which feeds stories to 40 national newspapers and the San Francisco Examiner.”
