Multicultural COUPLES.1st and 2nd-generation Americans. Families/children/in-laws/siblings. I help multicultural couples with the pitfalls of having seemingly different values, beliefs, traditions and rituals. Having been in a mixed marriage for at least 20 years, I am sensitive to the challenges of this population. I also help multicultural individuals get comfortable with their identity which is crucial for them as they navigate the issues of belongingness. I am mother to a biracial child.
A former School Counselor for children, I assist parents in understanding their children's behaviors and help the family move towards healthier dynamics. I facilitate groups as I have seen how the power of community and accountability help in moving my clients towards their goals. I run groups for adults, couples and parents.
I provide Neurofeedback training which is effective for ADD and other behavioral issues in children, and for anxiety and trauma for adults. If used vis-a-vis talk therapy, progress accelerates and we are able to focus on the existential issues that will promote growth and healing faster.

Will be held on May 19, 2012. Visit website to enroll. Most of us did not learn conflict resolution skills so we don't have the ability to resolve conflicts well. So some of us avoid conflicts while others continually fail to move on. But conflict is inevitable especially in close relationships so the goal is not to avoid them but learn how to negotiate differences. Premarital couples strongly encouraged to attend. Cost is a tiny fraction of your wedding gown, but the benefits may save you thousands in divorce fees, let alone the emotional cost to you and your children.
