As a Columbia University trained therapist with decades of experience, I believe that psychotherapy forms an emotional foundation that leads to a more satisfying and connected life. Psychotherapy works because of the special relationship that develops between the therapist and the individual or couple that promotes healing, enhanced self and other realization, and the facilitation of a more genuine and rewarding life. Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relational issues, addictions, grief and work conflicts are some of the reasons people come to my office. Although psychotherapy can be difficult, it can change your life to open up a whole new world.

Thirty years of experience has taught me what works in therapy. I have come to understand that the uniqueness of every individual is paramount and that the experience and expression of deep thoughts and feelings in a safe context is central to the quality of our lives.

I treat adolescents and adults,many suffering from depression, patterns of self-criticism, anxiety and histories of trauma and loss. I also specialize in working with couples of all backgrounds and orientations. I provide the opportunity to address and deal with conflict and pain that often is getting in the way of closeness and intimacy.
