“You aspire to being the best you can be - even in the face of discomfort, uncertainty or adversity. You want to be understood - for someone to 'get' whatever it is that has been troubling you. Psychotherapy allows the time and depth that is necessary to understand the relationship between the past and the present and to find ways of changing troubling life circumstances - or to develop appropriate coping skills and accept those circumstances if they cannot be changed.

I help individuals and couples. I have found that one of the biggest challenges that face my individual clients is the balancing of affiliation (with family, work organizations, friends) and autonomy. In my work with couples I draw from the teachings of several experts, including Harville Hendrix (Imago Therapy) and John Gottman (Marital Therapy).

As a former corporate attorney who specialized in employment law, I understand the pressures of the corporate world and how those pressures can affect other parts of your life. I also assist clients who are contemplating making career changes.”
