“Creative approach! Hopes, dreams and values are creatively related to plans and goals. Life transitions create stress which can destabilize emotional or relational situations. Psychodynamic therapy is used to make an honest, compassionate examination of distinctive patterns of feeling, habits of thought and the experiences that have shaped them. As clients become more familiar with their personal emotional and behavioral triggers, we work together in a cognitive style to invent strategies for dealing with problems ranging from stress, anxiety, depression and professional burnout or "imposter syndrome", to issues of loss, self-esteem, relationship, identity and problems of blocked creativity.
My psychodynamic technique is informed by Relational Analysis and Jungian Psychology. The cognitive-behavioral portion of my approach is based on Young's Schema Focused Therapy and Self Determination Theory. To read brief articles I have written on my areas of specialization, go to: http://ezinearticles.com/?expert_bio=Susan_Meindl
Clients who prefer a more creative or poetic approach, may wish to engage in therapeutic dream-work, or bring their their own artistic expressions to their therapeutic process. Questions of authenticity, integrity, personal autonomy, meaningful life and the special challenges of mid-life and aging may receive particular attention.”
