My media background began over 25 years ago while serving in the South African Army. That's when I launched 'The Forces Blue Book', a controlled circulation magazine offering discounts and premiums to the men in uniform! Upon immigrating to America I spent a year at Adweek magazine, five years at Vanity Fair and three years at GQ. After that, I joined Sussex Publishers when it was still a 'multi-magazine' company (Mother Earth News, Country Music, Psychology Today and Spy). Over the last 14 years we've successfully developed the Psychology Today brand and evolved it online.

On the home front, I have a lovely wife and two young children in Manhattan as well as an adult son who now works in Johannesburg. We live for our beach holidays in South Africa and skiing in the winter.
