These profiles can seem hokey, so let's cut to the chase. People typically seek professional assistance to relieve some sort of discomfort. Life reveals unthinkable challenges, "the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday." We experience health, success, disappointment, sickness and betrayal. I help make sense of challenging experiences, mend relationships or manage chronic symptoms. This is why clients call - sometimes after seeking help elsewhere. I'm a professional trained in many treatment methods. Some techniques focus on the "present moment," while others address thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Therapy manages uncomfortable symptoms, reduces distress & improves relationships.

Anticipate a relaxed attitude from the moment of your first visit. I'm engaging and want you to feel comfortable. Therapy isn't magic, yet by the end of our first meeting, you may gain an insight to use immediately! Services include face-to-face and distance counseling.

My work is like an on-call dentist -- a licensed, board certified professional offering relief at the oddest hours of life. Choose a competent, tech-savvy, good listener with a splash of dry wit. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Schedule an Appointment Now: https://www.247frontdesk.com:888/gui/patient/index2.jsp?officePhone=2023741000 .

John Duggan also hosts the following groups:

Bipolar Resiliency Program (Psychoeducation)
DC Diversity, LLC, 804 Pershing Drive, Suite 004, Silver Spring, Maryland
Every Thursday at 7pm - 8:30pm

This group offers practical guidance, psychoeducation and group therapy support. Several million American adults live with Bipolar Disorder, a chronic and serious condition once known as manic-depressive illness. There is no cure for Bipolar Disorder, so properly prescribed medication combined with regular psychotherapy is the recommended way to help manage symptoms. Affirming techniques are used to increase awareness about the risks of "starting-and-stopping" treatment haphazardly. This approach seeks to increase stability, reduce hospitalizations and improve one's quality of life.

This is an online psychoeducation group that teaches life strategies for people whose emotions create major problems in their lives and the lives of others. These emotions may lead to anger outbursts, depression suicide attempts, substance abuse, or eating disorders. Participants learn ways to regulate their emotions, deal with the distressing situations, and improve relationships with the people around them. These skills are taught in ways that appreciate the clients' strengths.
