My primary goal is to help people who feel stuck, either in unproductive communication patterns or conflicts that threaten their most important relationships. I place great value on being a compassionate, non-judgmental, responsive collaborator, uncovering clients' strengths, unrecognized needs, new or under-utilized talents and problem solving abilities. I find that this approach helps most clients come "unstuck" and accomplish their goals in a gentle and supportive process.
I approach all of my clients with a "stuck, not sick" philosophy. Be it dealing with interpersonal relationship concerns, parent/child conflict, marital strife, separation or divorce issues, parenting planning, step-parenting, coping with aging parents, empty nest, addiction or abuse, gender or sexual identity, or problems associated with illness or loss.
I am trained domestic violence clinician and have worked extensively with those suffering with addiction. I have a special interest and passion in working with adoptees and adoptive families.

Come together with a diverse group of men and women going through the very complicated experience of divorce. Some will be the leavers and some the left as we move beyond the ex-bashing and into the healing of the pain, the process of re-defining yourselves and your relationships with your children. It's about seeing the experience through others' eyes and to feel less alone. Katherine Allen will be leading the groups on a particular topic like building new holiday rituals, intimacy and belonging, financial changes, kids and extended family, conflict management and the like.
