Mrs. Sarah Ds Pokorny

Clinical Social Work/Therapist , MSW , LCSW

(985) 465-4632
Welcome! From conventional to alternative approaches, I draw upon a variety of styles and techniques selecting what might be most helpful for each client. I'm a warm and supportive, eclectic therapist and have worked with children, adolescents and adults for the past twelve years. I believe that each person is unique and has strengths that can be built on in therapy to reach their goals. Sometimes I might use a cognitive approach, helping someone to understand and challenge their thinking patterns. At other times, I might use an experiential approach, helping someone to experience or view a situation in a new way.
I work collaboratively with you to create the solutions that work for your life. I commonly see clients struggling with depression, anxiety disorders, infertility, relationship issues and family problems. I also have specific training in working with trichotillomania.
I am a professional member of the National Association of Social Workers, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, RESOLVE and the Trichotillomania Learning Center.
