Dr. James Thomas

I have a special focus in treating trauma, anxiety, and depression. I also have years of experience in relationship counseling and helping couples strengthen their marriages. My goal is to provide a professional, yet personal atmosphere where you can experience comfort and safety in exploring what is troubling you and find effective tools and skills that you can use in your life. When working with trauma, the healing process can often be frightening and painful to address. Talk alone is not enough and can be retraumatizing in some cases.

I am trained in EMDR and sensorimotor psychotherapies that have shown to be effective and efficient in helping people find lasting healing. I have helped victims of sexual assault and other crimes, experienced childhood trauma, or been injured in accidents. I have also worked with military veterans, police officers, and firefighters.

In therapy with me you will find acceptance and caring. I will work with you to create an atmosphere and plan that acknowledges and honors your experiences and knowledge and yet will challenge you to address and grow in all aspects of your life in a competant, caring and confidential environment.
