Dr. Janet Hope Horwitz

Psychologist , PsyD

(215) 851-0773
For 20+ years, I have been helping people overcome depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. My warmth and authenticity put most people at ease from the start. I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, researched to be the most effective form of couples' therapy with even the most distressed couples. I create a safe environment which helps you to explore beliefs and emotions which are keeping you stuck and perpetually dissatisfied with life. This, in turn, leads to a sense of clarity and a renewed experience of yourself in the world.
I use a more experiential therapeutic approach which focuses on the here and now interactions with the therapist and emotions as these illuminate old, stuck patterns of being in the world which have not served you well. I use Emotionally Focused Couples' Therapy, an empirically based model of couples therapy
Everyone comes to therapy with different needs and I take special care with clients to learn about them and understand what they need from me as a therapist and from the therapy.
