I believe that I am a good match for patients seeking a psychotherapy experience that is focused, active, and intense -- particularly those wrestling with issues of fear and courage, past histories of trauma and mistreatment, inner conflicts, and deeply painful feelings. As a Chairwork Psychotherapist trained in Gestalt Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Voice Dialogue, I use of imagery and psychodramatic techniques extensively as I believe that these are extremely effective ways of helping people change and heal. In my addiction work, I integrate various forms of parts work with Harm Reduction Psychotherapy
Chairwork, Schema therapy, Gestalt therapy, Voice Dialogue, and Imagery Rescripting are the major sources of inspiration for my work. Beyond that, I utilize ideas from Existential Psychotherapy and the Jungian idea of the Hero's Journey.
Chairwork Psychotherapy is based on the belief that it is healing and transformative to: (1) give voice to one's inner parts, modes, and selves; (2) express and integrate difficult, painful, or secret narratives; and (3) enact or re-enact scenes from one's past, present or future. This is the philosophy that guides my practice.
