Ms. Andrea Leigh Schear

Clinical Social Work/Therapist , LCSW

(860) 253-2675
I have a wealth of experience in treating adults, children, teens and families. I believe that therapy can be very beneficial for helping people through transitions as well as conditions of long standing and that a warm, supportive rapport with the therapist is a crucial vehicle for change. I use Cognitive Behavioral and Insight therapy to address issues such ADHD, Bipolar disorder, poor communication, adjustment and mood disorders, sexual and physical abuse, depression, anxety, grief, parenting problems and divorce. It's an Honor to watch an individual's metamorphosis; to be part of their process of changing.
I have worked extensively in CBT helping people to change their feelings by challenging their thoughts and with people who have had persistent anxiety/depression. With the hectic pace of life it is crucial for people to learn effective coping skills and relaxation techniques. I am well versed in Guided Imagery.
NECBT has a brilliant triage system: Parenting training in ICBT for those having children ages 4-I6, ICBT groups that address improving children, teens and young adults" social interaction and coping skills as well as individual ICBT therapy. I marvel at the difference in the quality of life that comes from these programs!
