I work primarily with adults who are struggling with issues within their relationships, sex, and work. I am both psychoanalytically and cognitively trained, and have a style that is no-nonsense and direct. Sexual anorexia, sex addiction, commitment phobia, and personality issues are commonly overlooked in treatment. Many of my clients are looking for someone who will challenge them and help them change rigid patterns of perception and behaviors. Some realize they are repeating old patterns despite a high intelligence and insight. I also believe humor is therapeutic if it is not used to deny underlying feelings. Phone/Skype available.

Commitment phobia comes in a variety of forms. Simple decisions in a restaurant or deciding to marry, the fear of making any commitment can cause a person anxiety. It can be the catalyst for acting out behaviors that cause distance in a relationship, such as sex addiction or sexual anorexia.

I try to help simplify and define issues clearly for a client so that they have a clear understanding of what is happening currently, how it evolved, and the steps necessary to resolve the issues. I focus on the client's feelings that come up when trying to change.
