I will do my best to provide emotional support, insight, and alternatives in an atmosphere of nonjudgmental acceptance, empathic concern and a style of interaction that fits who you are. Therapy works best when you are motivated to make changes in your life. I will bring passion to our interactions; listening, challenging, and supporting you as you move in your desired directions, whether they be behavioral, emotional, spiritual, or health related.

My speciality is the psychology of men, which includes relationship concerns, work, parenting issues, sexuality, loss and trauma, emotional expressiveness, addressing symptoms of depression and anxiety, and exploring mid-life challenges and quests for a more meaningful life. I am a tenured University of Redlands psychology professor, who has co-written 3 books: Man Alive: A Primer of Men's Issues; Men and Depression; and Deepening Psychotherapy with Men. I am past President of the Society for Psychological Study of Men and Masculinity of the American Psychological Association.
