I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help patients manage mood and anxiety related symptoms. This type of intervention views the patient as the expert in his or her own symptoms and builds on this expertise by teaching strategies and skills to address problem areas. I have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of different settings and have been able to effectively reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression in many cases. I work together with my clients and utilize a collaborative therapeutic relationship to help them meet their goals.

CBT is a brief, problem-focused treatment which concentrates on interactions between behavior, thoughts, and emotions. Several clinical trials have established efficacy in children, adolescents, and adults. I enjoy utilizing this approach as it offers structure and fosters improvement by assisting clients in setting manageable goals and reaching them successfully.

In addition to individual therapy, I also offer group therapy which focuses on symptom management and increased social interaction skills. I also provide psychological and psychoeducational evaluations which include a school visit, detailed report, feedback sessions for parents and children, as well as meetings with school administrators.
