In a sense, we are the authors of our lives, and we draw up the blueprints for their design. We don't have to remain passive victims of our circumstances, but instead can consciously become the architects of who we can become. An important objective of therapy involves reflection on one's life, recognition of a range of alternatives, and then deciding amongst these choices. One can then develop the increased ability to strengthen personal agency - the capacity to self-motivate and self-mobilize in order to more consistantly achieve one's objectives and ultimately to give one's life greater meaning, purpose and direction.

I am a psychotherapist, sex and couple therapist, hypnotherapist, and an addiction, trauma (PTSD), abuse, palliative care and EMDR counsellor with over twenty-five years of experience in private practice and in the public sector. I have been affiliated with the CLSC and the Psychology Department of the MUHC (McGill University Health Centre) since 1991.

I have completed a two-year post-graduate Clinical Internship at the Family Treatment Institute and with the Psychology Department of the McGill University Health Centre and trained with the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University Department of Psychiatry, and at The Menninger Institute, Topeka, Kansas in the areas of trauma, anxiety and depression.

These eight-week seminars are based on material developed over many years of providing couple enhancement training with the Sex and Couple Therapy Service of the Psychology Department (McGill University Health Centre - Royal Victoria Hospital). The focus is on creating a relaxed "user-friendly" environment and an enjoyable process of both self-examination and greater relationship awareness. Sessions are focused on the psychology of attraction, love, anger and conflict resolution, communication, emotional intimacy, physical intimacy and spiritual growth. Meetings are held in a relaxed atmosphere and provides an effective and inspiring way to gain insight into oneself and one's "couplehood".

"Self -parenting"
Queen Mary Road, Montréal, Quebec
Every other Sunday at 7pm - 9pm
$40+ per session

"Self-parenting" provides guidance and training in recognizing and responding to some of our greatest needs: to boost our sense of respect for ourselves as unique individuals, and to free ourselves from counter-productive thinking and self-sabotaging emotions. Training also involves such skills as: distress tolerance, emotional regulation, grounding, self-soothing, confidence-building and performance enhancment. The group is primarily attended by participants who are generaly comfortable with their overall functioning, but are looking to develop their capacities to more sucessfully deal with personal, professional, relationship or work or sports-related objectives or challenges.

"Releasing the Creative Process"
Queen Mary Road, Montréal, Quebec
Every other Sunday at 1pm - 4pm
$40+ per session

These groups are based on work that I originally did at The Royal Academy of Music in London (U.K.). The objective is to assist participants in both the awareness of and the expression of their creative capacities - whether they are currently working professionally, would like to do so, or simply want to deepen the level of creativity in their daily lives. Attention is paid to to "blocks" in the creative process and the capacity for self-expression. Emphasis is placed on the development of a more tangible sense of self (selves!), & responding to self-defeating thoughts, feelings and attitudes.
