Dr. Virgil Wittmer

My speciality is treatment of individuals who have chronic pain. I am the Executive Director of Brooks Behavioral Medicine which includes an interdisciplinary pain rehabilitation program. This is an intensive rehabilitation (mind and body) program that provides psychological, biofeedback, physical therapy, and medical management. Our program is fully accredited by CARF (Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) for inpatient and outpatient pain rehabilitation. Our focus is on empowering patients to take back control of their lives by enhacing function, reducing pain, improving mood, reducing stress, and reducing or eliminating prescribed opiate (pain)medications (if so desired by the patient).

Our medical director is board certified in pain medicine and physical medicine. We have two Ph.D.'s and an LCSW to provide psychological treatment, two doctoral level physical therapists, a BCIA certified biofeedback therapist, and a rehabiliation nurse (RN). We can provide individual therapy, or full programmatic services.

Over 50% of our patients come from outside of Florida for this unique approach to treating chronic pain.
