Dr. David Cox

“I work mostly with men and couples, adolescents and adults. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders and stress, providing coping strategies that clients trust and like in a safe and caring setting. My goal is to help clients learn to relax and calm themselves as efficiently as possible in today's hectic, stressful world. Results from my work include clients feeling more confident, personally empowered and more focused. Clients often report not feeling so tied up internally, thus freeing them to be more alive and fully present, thus increasing quality of life experience.

My speciality in treating anxiety disorders include issues related to performance anxiety, test-taking anxiety, public speaking anxiety , phobias, general anxiety and worry, PTSD, panic attacks and social anxiety. I work from a perspective that is focused and strategic, combining dynamic principles of analytic therapy, EMDR and cognitive modalities of treatment.

I have a medical background and three graduate degrees, one from Northwestern University in Chicago, so I bring a wide range of training and experience into therapy to help my clients. I am also trained in EMDR, a trauma and anxiety based treatment that is highly successful at achieving results quickly.”
