Amanda is a counselor and play therapist with Thrive Counseling Center, LLC where she provides individual, group, and play therapy for children/adolescents and support services for their families. Parent coaching and Filial Therapy are also offered for parents. Her clinical background includes self-acceptance and awareness based work with individuals with anxiety disorders, depression, grief/bereavement, self-esteem and empowerment issues, divorce adjustment for children, social skills building, parent skills building and coaching, trauma, abuse/neglect, stress management, anger management, conflict resolution, and family/relationship issues.

Each of Amanda's clients receives individualized care uniquely tailored to their culture, life situation, and treatment goals. Her emphasis is on helping children and adolescents function more effectively and confidently while learning how to cope with the constant struggles of growing up. TeenTalkingCircles are designed to give teens an opportunity to strengthen their selfesteem, and feelings of selfworth, stay true to themselves, act on their values, make wise, resilient, and healthy choices, create new definitions of beauty, respect and appreciate their bodies, listen to their intuition, voice their thoughts and opinions responsibly, and practice speaking and listening from their hearts and standing up for what they feel, think, see and know. Through using art activities, improv games and group discussions teens will explore relevant topics for today's teen which will be addressed within the context of a safe and supportive peer environment.

The Social Butterfly Club: Social Skills Group

Middle & High School Groups Offered! Social skills groups are designed to help children and teens learn skills that are necessary to develop friendships and maintain positive relationships with peers. Participants will learn and practice new skills to utilize when interacting with peers via various modalities including role-plays, team-building activities, games and other therapeutic-based activities. These social skills group experiences offer youth the opportunity to become familiar with and implement interpersonal skills with the guidance, coaching, and support of licensed therapists in a small, safe, peer group setting.

Camp Friendship

Camp Friendship is a unique therapeutic summer day camp for teens. Campers are invited to get to know themselves a little better, learn about what's really important to them, and prepare for success in school, social relationships, and ultimately, life! This specialized program designed to enhance social skills, peer relationships, self-esteem, self-confidence and assertiveness for teens. We believe in the value of experiential learning (learning by doing) and in relationship-based shared learning (learning from your peers). At our camp, teens engage in activities that challenge them to think in new ways and communicate authentically. Camp sessions run for two weeks.
