Our work together will be informed by the cutting edge of neuroscience, scientifically supported, positive psychological interventions, and the 2,500 year-old Buddhist practice of mindfulness--which has garnered volumes of recent scientific attention for its efficacy as a therapeutic tool. I also incorporate cutting edge bio-feedback tools as a support to developing a mindfulness practice of your own that will directly impact your physiology for increased health and well-being. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, and have a particular interest in depression, anxiety, relational challenges--including couples therapy--and serious illness.
Let me say more about serious illness. I have special training and experience in helping patients face Cancer, as well as other chronic conditions like Multiple Sclerosis. I am trained to work with this special population by the former medical director of the Simonton Cancer Center in Santa Barbara, California.

Dr. Sean Hatt also hosts the following groups:
Red Square Yoga, 1911 10th Avenue West, Seattle, Washington
Every Thursday at 7pm - 8:30pm
$20 - $20 per session
This group is built around directly experiencing our True Nature--that of Unconditioned Awareness. It is primarily based upon the ancient Buddhist teachings of the Prajnaparamita (Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom) and Anatta (No-self). We practice a sort of non-meditation or "natural meditation" in which we sit in awareness and authentically encounter one another in the timeless present. The result is we are able to touch (for lack of a better term) a state of Being where it is impossible to suffer.

Professional Connections
“"Two thumbs up" is my recommendation for Dr. Sean Hatt--a highly skillful, gifted clinician whom I recommend unhesitatingly. Having had the great pleasure of working collaboratively with Dr. Sean on many occasions over the years, it has become 'a matter of course' knowing that the clients I refer to him will be in expert hands, and feedback will be glowingly positive. Displaying non-judgmental, interested curiosity and youthful wisdom for what, and who are present, he creates a space of openness and safety that allows trust, vulnerability and risk to emerge.” |
