We aim to be a community resource that promotes education and healing through mindfulness and compassion.
Our mission is to provide counseling and wellness services that are affordable to anyone regardless of financial ability. We do not turn anyone away due to inability to pay. We offer reduced and sliding scale fees for those who are in financial need.

Austin Mindfulness Center's groups


Self-Compassion is a practice that helps us be more gentle and forgiving with ourselves. If you tend to be critical of yourself and beat yourself up when you make mistakes, or have low self-esteem, this group is for you. Self-Compassion makes it possible to withstand failure and disappointments mindfully, with kindness and an awareness of our common humanity. This is a 10-week closed group, which begins April 16, 2014.

Introduction to Mindfulness

This beginners class will meet for one hour each week for five weeks. Each class will include experiential practice as well as education about the researched physical and mental health benefits of mindfulness. During each class we will take time to address any questions or problems students might be experiencing in their daily practice. Students are expected to practice mindfulness at home between classes. The next five week class series begins April 13, 2014.
