Marriage & Family Therapist, MS, LMFT
“Many people struggle with issues in their lives and can benefit from meeting with a trained professional. I help my clients identify problems and work toward a solution. Most problems can be solved with proper help and early treatment, which keeps small problems from becoming large ones that then seem unsolvable. I believe that each individual is unique, regardless if the issues are the same they are still different. Because of this belief, I provide an eclectic approach to therapy matching each individual needs with a specific therapuetic approach. If applicable and the client is interested hypno-therapy is available.

Postpartum Depression - Park Royal, Treatment Facility in Fort Myers
“While the birth of a child is often met with great enthusiasm and joy, in some new mothers, it can also lead to depression. The "baby blues" are quite common in new mothers and are characterized by mood swings and crying jags that fade after several weeks. Some new mothers, however develop a more severe form of depression: postpartum depression (PPD). Postpartum depression isn't a sign of weak character or that a woman doesn't love her baby - it's simply a complication of birth. PPD is quite common, affecting one in every eight (or 13%) woman after birth. Symptoms include pervasive sadness long past the hormone shifts, lack of sleep, and adjustment to life with a newborn, feelings of guilt, anxiety, stress, and feelings of hopelessness. Some women with postpartum depression report that they don't feel joy or excitement about their new baby, which causes extreme emotional distress. With early treatment and proper support, nearly all women with postpartum depression are able to make a full recovery and return to a happy, healthy life with their new baby.

“I am trained in brain behavior, with a specialty in accidents and diseases that affect the brain. I completed a Ph.D. program, internship, and postdoctoral residency specializing in Neuropsychology. I evaluate brain function and, when appropriate, use techniques to "re-wire" the brain. Patients with dementia (e.g., Alzheimer's), TBI, and memory problems are my specialty. Keep your mind/brain healthy and you are at your peak, optimal self.
