My approach to mental health is holistic, which means I incorporate methods of treatment aside from strictly talk therapy. I believe it is important to take a look at a client's lifestyle - support networks (family and friends), nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleeping and waking patterns, mindfulness, fun, relaxation, sense of community, managing finances, self-care, etc. in order to help the client find their balance and feel their very best.
Most clients I see are experiencing general psychosocial health concerns and grief concerns. Treatment varies depending on the unique personalities and experiences of you and the counselor. Counseling requires active effort on your part, including thoughtfully practicing things we discuss both in and out of our sessions together.
I approach therapy eclectically, often using utilizing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
