This year marks 20 years since I stepped into healthcare counseling & I feel the importance of this work accelerating every year. As stress-related chronic conditions soar, a pandemic quiets but leaves long-term effects, healthcare providers burnout, & patients suffer through flawed systems; I have an unmatched empathy for both patients & providers, having been on both sides. My focus is on helping those with chronic illnesses, pain syndromes, medical trauma, & undiagnosed conditions improve their understanding, coping, & management of their health, while working to also improve communication with important care partners.
I have been trained extensively and practice from a combination of both neuroscience, somatic, and deep attachment/emotionally-focused theories. Examining how patients get stuck in overactive pain & fear circuits, allows a patient to improve their coping & overall management of their condition.
