Life stressors, chronic illness, relationship struggles, and underlying trauma can often lead to anxiety, depression, overwhelm and distress. I believe we all do the best we can at any given moment; however, sometimes we all need additional support to help us re-engage our strength to tackle our emotional pain and heal. Therapy isn't about ridding ourselves of our human experience, but to help us be our best self in spite of it.
I utilize an approach that integrates research-based treatments that focus on strengths, solutions and are rooted in action: Trauma informed, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, Exposure Therapies, problem solving and motivational therapies. I also believe in incorporating humor as it is a natural way to promote healing.
About me. I am from Boston, yes I talk funny! Yes, I love the Red Sox, (by default). I love to engage humor as much as possible, it's my coping skill. I love working with a variety of people and truly believe that counseling is a team effort and a lot of honesty.
