With over 20 years experience, I have developed a level of insight that is critical in helping your child work through his/her issues. I seek to help you and/or your child live in the present instead of dwelling on the past and/or worrying about the future. I am an interactive participant with you and/or your child in the growth process. At our first meeting I want you to know coming to talk to me does not mean you are "crazy" or "weird." Instead you are brave and smart to face your issues and get help for them.
I focus on the person sitting across from me because you and/or your child are the most important person in the room. I love the look on a teen's face when they see that I "get it." My goal is to make you and/or your child feel comfortable, relaxed and not judged.
I work mostly with children/adolescents with a variety of issues such as anxiety/depression, poor self-image, family relationships and teen "drama." I also work with children/adolescents who engage in self-injurious behaviors. I offer concrete suggestions to finding healthier coping strategies. Another area of focus is children and families going through divorce.
