Ms. Amelie Marguerite Prescott

I specialize in trauma intervention. Just as a broken bone becomes stronger after proper setting, so can a patient heal stronger through specialized treatment. Human beings are designed to heal, it is just a matter of activating and facilitating this healing. The clinical name for this work is EMDR, which is the treatment of chioce for those afflicted with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). This treatment has been proven very effective with returning war veterans, Hurricane Katrina survivors, and various other forms of trauma in youth and adults. I also use art as a tool for expression and healing.

Trauma healing is a sophisticated art. I have been fortunate enough to study with healing elders from both Buddhist and First Nation traditions. These deeply spiritual modalities, in combination with Western practice of EMDR, have proven ideal for alleviating traumatic wounds ranging from reoccuring suffering to total upheaval occuring in an instant.
