Dr. Amy L Harris

I believe that psychotherapy assists people in alleviating suffering, relating to others and themselves more flexibly, and increasing their capacity for joy and gratitude. My approach is tailored the needs of individual clients and emphasizes an integrated mix of psychodynamic, interpersonal, existential,and cognitive-behavioral theories and techniques. I am a Vermont licensed doctoral psychologist who trained at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Leeds, MA and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Fletcher Allen Health Care. I also did a year-long internship in college counseling and worked for several years in community mental health.

I enjoy working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, histories of sexual and/or physical abuse, chronic illness, addictions, relationship issues, and divorce. I have experience working with military families and veterans coping with post-traumatic stress disorder. I have also worked with many individuals and couples facing infertility and infant loss.
