“I realize that meeting with a complete stranger and sharing the most intimate details of your life can be overwhelming and deters many from getting help. My primary goal in meeting with you is to create a space in which you feel safe, accepted, connected, and supported in sharing who you are with me. When we create such a connection, we can determine how experiences in your life have impacted you and work toward changing how they continue to do so.
I work with many different people with different concerns, from situational stress to trauma and life-threatening disorders. I also have specific training, experience, and passion in helping people with eating disorders and GLBT concerns. I have several nutritionists in town that I consult with and refer to when needed. I also consistently find that close to half my case-load is GLBT clients.
I offer cognitive behavioral therapy and other skills-based treatment. I also work within a relationship model which involves discussing how you and I interact together. I can get to know you well, give you feedback on how I experience you, and help you generalize this insight to improve your relationships with others.”
