No one is happy all the time. Most people have felt numb, dissatisfied, or confused at some point in their lives. Sometimes feelings like sadness or anger can persist and prevent enjoyment of life. Whether you are in crisis or simply dissatisfied, therapy can help. My clients are often individuals struggling with the hard realities of their lives--whether that be marriage to a person with substance abuse, stress related to an unreasonable employer, a dying parent, or an angry child, or other difficult situations. Through our work together you will be more able to address your particular challenges.

I specialize in working with difficult feelings that may be the result of loss, fear, or a sense of failure. I facilitate positive development through reworking past negative experiences, mutually exploring the individual's sense of purpose and identity, and supporting change.

Psychotherapy is my second career after years spent teaching college literature and writing--work that gave me a humanistic perspective and one-on-one experience with hundreds of students. As a therapist I bring that outlook and experience to facilitate each client's individual growth and change.
