I am a clinical psychologist and have had my own practice for 14 years. I am trained in cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic approaches. In situations warranting a deeper understanding of a problem, I tend to use a psychodynamic approach. In more practical issues of changing behavior and/or learning a new approach, I tend to use a cognitive behavioral approach. This involves assessing desired behavior changes, obstacles, and strengths to obtain the goal. Consistent across both approaches, is a tendency to ask questions in a safe and cooperative style that allows clients to gain new perspectives on problems and issues.

I have significant experience in working with issues involving relationships, anxiety and depression. Regarding issues where I apply a psychodynamic approach, I focus more on understanding past events or relationships contributing to a problem as well as trying to understand possible patterns.

I am conveniently located in the Heights area and work with adults, couples, and adolescents. I am very respectful of each individual's autonomy and strive for a more comprehensive understanding of issues so that clients can exercise their own best decisions.
