Do you feel stressed, anxious? Is your self-esteem, self-confidence being affected by worry and negative thinking? Do you experience sad, depressed moods frequently? As a compassionate, supportive, non-judgmental therapist, I can help you develop ways to face life challenges. True change comes from within the individual. This change comes about through self-understanding. My role as your therapist is to help you to recognize and improve your existing positive life patterns, to become aware of and challenge unhealthy life patterns and to develop new life skills so that you can have a more purposeful and fulfilling life.

From conventional to alternative approaches, I draw upon a variety of styles and techniques based on specific needs of each individual client. I'm a supportive, solution-focused, eclectic therapist. I use cognitive, experiential or behavioral techniques and where appropriate, the 12 step model of addiction.

A specialty is grief counseling with children. I have found that they are often the "forgotten mourners" when family is faced with the loss of a loved one. Young children think in specific, concrete terms. With appropriate therapy, they often attain some level of acceptance in their own simplistic way.

Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult
